How to read this timeline: conclusions are attributed to the body that issued them. A human-rights organization’s finding, a UN expert report, an independent Commission of Inquiry finding, an ICC arrest warrant and an ICJ order have different legal status.

Important: this is an identified-name list, not the total Gaza death toll. The source documentation notes categories of deaths that may be absent from Ministry named lists, including unidentified people, people missing under rubble and other cases not captured by the health information system.
OCHA · humanitarian movement coordination

Humanitarian access

A comparable timeline of UN and humanitarian movements inside Gaza that required coordination with Israeli authorities. The series shows how many movements were facilitated, impeded, denied or cancelled during each OCHA reporting period.

Each point is an actual OCHA reporting period; gaps are not interpolated.
Source: United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), occupied Palestinian territory. Only periods with a comparable numerical breakdown of movements coordinated with Israeli authorities are included. Cancelled/withdrawn is kept separate from denial because OCHA attributes those cancellations to the requesting organizations for operational, logistical or security reasons. Impeded includes movements that faced delays, blocks or other restrictions; some were eventually completed.
Coverage limitation: OCHA's format changes over time. Later reports without a comparable outcome breakdown are not added. The updater never fills gaps.

Recorded conflict events involving Israeli forces

UCDP georeferenced conflict events from 7 Oct 2023 onward involving Israeli forces. The map includes events inside Israel as well as Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria and elsewhere. Where UCDP text supports a direction, events are labelled as an Israeli-attributed attack or an attack on Israel / Israeli forces; otherwise they are shown as clash / direction unclear.
Important: UCDP does not provide a universal event-level attacker field. No Israeli-involved event is discarded simply because direction is unclear. Direction labels are conservative interpretations of UCDP text metadata; ambiguous events remain visible as “clash / direction unclear”.
Context note: “Direction unclear” refers only to uncertainty about who initiated the specific recorded event. It should not be understood as describing the broader situation as neutral. Where such an event occurs in the occupied Palestinian territory, or inside the internationally recognized borders of another country, it may take place in the context of an illegal Israeli military presence. This broader legal context is distinct from the map’s event-level attribution.
